Katowice operation launched to meet rising demand for hand-carry and aircraft charter services
December 3, 2015We’re delighted to announce the launch of a new office in Katowice to meet increased demand for our specialist services in Poland, Eastern Europe and the Baltic states.
Chapman Freeborn has appointed Daniel Walaszek as general manager for the new Katowice business, with responsibility for expanding our company's aircraft charter and on board courier (OBC) services in the region.
In a career spanning 15 years, he has worked in a variety of management roles for companies in the logistics sector. His most recent position before joining Chapman Freeborn was as special services operations manager for TNT Express Poland, where he oversaw time-critical cargo projects on a worldwide basis.
Commenting on the appointment, group sales and marketing director Alex Berry said:
“We are delighted to have Daniel join us in the position of general manager. He has extensive experience in the international logistics market which makes him a real asset to Chapman Freeborn as we expand our aircraft charter and OBC activities.”
He adds:
“Our group’s existing facility in Warsaw already accommodates over 80 employees, and Katowice was the obvious choice to locate a satellite office. Our business has gone from strength to strength in Poland and we believe there is a great opportunity to further develop our unique services in this market.”
Katowice is a gateway to Poland’s manufacturing heartland - meaning demand for specialist aircraft charter and on board courier services is high.
The Upper Silesia region in particular is considered to be the hub of Poland’s automotive manufacturing sector - with industry giants like General Motors and Fiat located alongside component manufacturers making parts for export to markets worldwide.
